Photo challenge: Shoot into the sun
This weekend found me in Amboy, Calif., a onetime bustling stop on Route 66. Now it's a tiny town with a population of five, and it's one of my favorite places on earth.
In Amboy, you can find a huge field of glass bottles that glitter like gemstones:
In Amboy, there's a random tree in the middle of the desert that is filled with shoes:
In Amboy, you can hike to the center of a 10,000 year old volcano:
And then you leave Amboy, driving a zillion miles an hour on empty desert roads, past fields of salt that reflect the colors of the sunset:
